Savor Dallas’ Toast of the Town series features innovative culinary events—from educational and delicious seminars to one-of-a-kind dinners and direct conversations with chefs—all hosted by the city’s top taste-making talent.

These unique tasting events celebrate the spirit of connoisseurship like no other with multiple courses, wine and spirits pairings, and direct interaction with chefs and talent—all taking guests on an unforgettable epicurean journey.

Perfect 10: Ten Courses + Conversation with Chef Alex Astranti

Sunday, May 13 | 6:00 p.m. | Uchi Dallas | 2817 Maple Avenue, Dallas

Uchi Dallas Chef de Cuisine Alex Astranti hosts an intimate evening highlighting some of his favorite hot and cold tastings and one-night-only dishes. Together with drink pairings, guests will dine on such delights as oyster (with house strawberry vinegar), blossoms (wild carrots and wild flowers) and taraba (king crab and corn), along with miso halibut, wagyu ribeye, kanpachi and more. Plus, Chef Astranti will do a special demonstration of nigiri, inviting guests to participate in the preparation.

House Party with Chef Kent Rathbun: An Exclusive First Look at Imoto

Monday, May 14 | 6:00 p.m. | Chef Kent Rathbun’s home | Dallas  (Address will be sent upon ticket purchase.)

Not only will guests get to hang out with Chef Kent Rathbun in his stunning kitchen and home that was built for entertaining, but they will get an exclusive first look at he and wife Tracy Rathbun’s upcoming Asian restaurant, Imoto, opening in Victory Park later this summer. Try a range of dynamic new dishes that will show up on the Imoto menu before anyone else does. Plus, see renderings of the restaurant and get behind-the-scenes scoop from Chef Rathbun himself. Hint: He might also take you on a tour of his amazing herb and vegetable gardens, if you ask him.

Modern Mexican Supper with Chef Anastacia Quinones

If you haven’t experienced Chef Anastacia Quinones’ modern Mexican cuisine at the recently reimagined Cedars Social, this is the night to indulge in a multi-course journey of flavors (her famous, rotating mole sauce might even make an appearance). Modelo is also coming to this fiesta, so expect dishes like Modelo-braised brisket with beet tortilla and jalapeno goat cheese mousse as well as shrimp and crab micheladas to be part of the mix—plus plenty of beer and cocktails to go around.

Surf & Turf Redefined: A Wine Dinner with Chef Nick Ocando

Surf and turf takes on delicious new meaning with Chef Nick Ocando during this evening of indulgences. Start off with a Champagne and Lambrusco meet-and-greet with the chef on the vineyard patio. Then, get set for the seated seven-course feast, including everything from East Coast oysters and fresh Maine lobster, to Georges Bank scallops and Jonah crab. The turf comes in with dry-aged 44 Farms ribeye, dry-aged A5 Miyazaki Wagyu strip, ribeye, and more, where guests will get to experience both dry-aged and wet-aged preparations on the same plate to learn the differences and compare. Plus, The Prisoner Wine Company will be on hand with artful pairings of their one-of-a-kind sips.

Ultimate Barbecue Experience with Pitmaster Trey Hutchins

Hang out with pit boss Trey Hutchins at the ultimate BBQ Experience, where guests will get a taste of all the smoked goodness including four meats, four sides, and plenty of other sweet and savory surprises—like the Texas Twinkie (and, yes, adult beverages, too!) But, the real treat is the Pit Tour with the pitmaster Hutchins himself. It promises to be a smokin’ hot time.

ROXOR Spirited Pairings: A ROX Star Cocktail Party with Chef Dean Fearing and Chef Robert Del Grande

Wednesday, May 16 | 6:00 p.m. | Museum Tower | 1918 N. Olive St., Dallas

Get set for an extravaganza of ROXOR Artisan Gin cocktails, expertly paired food, inspired music, and culture—all under one unbelievable roof on the magical terrace of Museum Tower overlooking the downtown Dallas skyline. This Toast of the Town event is the ultimate party, featuring a ROX Star cast including the culinary mayor of Dallas, Dean Fearing, and the “doctor of cuisine” Robert Del Grande, the James Beard-awarded Houston chef who also holds a Ph. D. and is the recipe developer for ROXOR. You’ll learn all about cocktail and food pairings, too, while ROX Star of the Bar Eddie “Lucky” Campbell keeps you fully hydrated. ROX Star of the Groove DJ Blake Ward will be in the house along with ROX Star model Roxanna Redfoot.
