For four days each spring, Dallas is transformed into a haven for culinary connoisseurs and wine aficionados. From fire-grilled delicacies to dainty desserts, there’s something for everyone to enjoy at Savor Dallas, a destination food and wine festival unlike any other.
Savor Dallas 2017, set for April 6 through 9, is the premier tasting destination for North Texas gourmands. If you have a penchant for gourmet flavors, fine wine and craft cocktails, you’ll find plenty to love at the festival’s array of events, ranging from a casual farm-to-table brunch to the lavish Grand Tasting.
Whether it’s your first time attending this immersive event or you simply need a refresher, this guide has exactly what you need to get the most out of this epicurean extravaganza.
Kick off the weekend at ’Cue It Up in the Harwood District, where you can expect to see plenty of boots and barbecue. This casually refined lawn party, expected to attract more than 1,200 guests, features smoked meats and other bites assembled by culinary innovators and chef hosts Nathan Tate of Rapscallion and Boulevardier, Katherine Clapner of Dude, Sweet Chocolate and Pitmaster Matt Dallman of 18th & Vine Barbeque. Sample wines from a diverse drink menu, and indulge your sweet tooth at the Sweet Heat dessert lounge — a chance to chase that smoke with a little sugar.
Get dolled up in your favorite evening attire and head to Happiest Hour, Dallas’ largest patio bar and lounge, for Shaken & Stirred, the ultimate cocktail party. Mix and mingle with local tastemakers while enjoying a variety of creative cocktails at this mixology-driven event. In addition to signature spirits, guests can expect a unique, bespoke assortment of charcuterie and gourmet treats curated by host chefs Graham Dodds, Misti Norris, and David Uygur of Lucia Dallas. Enjoy these handcrafted bites on the rooftop patio, offering some of the best city views.
The Grand Tasting is the festival’s opulent main event, featuring more than 50 chefs and restaurants, hundreds of premier wines and specialty spirits, an outdoor grill lounge and live music and entertainment. Chef Chad Houser of Cafe Momentum will be at the helm along with host talent including Chef Omar Flores of Casa Rubia at Trinity Groves and Whistlebritches, Chef Stephen Rogers of Gemma and Chef Brian Luscher of The Grape.
The Reserve Tasting is Savor Dallas’ signature event, featuring the highest tier of wines, including reserves and limited-edition labels. Reserve Tasting guests can also enjoy access to the exclusive RNDC Spirits Tasting Lounge.
Cap off a remarkable weekend with a laid-back Sunday brunch at the Dallas Farmers Market. This smaller, more intimate event allows guests to have the opportunity to chat with local chefs, artisans and vendors while sampling tasty treats and sipping mimosas, bloody marys and fresh-pressed juices. Enjoy live entertainment and a stunning view of the Dallas skyline in an easygoing conclusion to Savor Dallas 2017.
Tickets are available now for each of the individual events, or you can purchase an all-inclusive weekend pass.
