We all love a little BTS—behind the scenes—action. And, that’s exactly what we’re serving up with an inside peek into all the glories of the Grand Tasting.
It’s the mega destination for wine aficionados and gourmands of all kinds, and as Savor Dallas’ delicious main event, the Grand Tasting continues its reign as the ultimate food and drink experience.
Indulge your epicurean dreams with tastes from more than 50 notable chefs and restaurants along with culinary artisans. Add to that, hundreds and hundreds of wines curated by Goody Goody plus an RNDC spirits alley, mixology creations by Sourced Craft Cocktails, an outdoor grill lounge, and live music and entertainment.
Here’s the savory scoop on what to expect:
Must-try dishes from 50 of DFW’s hottest restaurants | You’ll definitely have to save room for what our host chefs Kirstyn Brewer, Brian Luscher of The Grape, Omar Flores of Casa Rubia and Whistle Britches, Stephen Rogers of Gemma, and honorary host chef Chad Houser of Café Momentum have in store. Here are some of the dishes that have caught our eye:
Abacus: Chipotle-dusted venison with fire-roasted pepper white cheddar grits and jalapeno honey
Henry’s Homemade: Ice cream galore!
Host chef Brian Luscher, The Grape: Luscher’s Post Oak Red Hot’s Wurst Salad
Host chef Kirstyn Brewer: Chilled white cloud of mushroom noodles with cucumber, herbs, chili oil, and sesame
Host chef Stephen Rogers, Gemma: Orrechiette with lamb and spring vegetables. Yum!
Meddlesome Moth: Bratwurst and bacon-mustard stout cream kolaches
Mercat Bistro: mini quiche Lorraine
Saint Ann: Gulf red snapper ceviche with avocado and crispy yucca chips
STIRR: Cow & pig mini burgers with dry-aged Kobe and ground boar with garlic aioli
Taramosalata with crispy potato skins | It’s one of those must-try dishes we already told you about. Want to know exactly what it is? Visit honorary host chef Chad Houser’s Café Momentum station!
Wine, wine, wine, and more wine! | We’ve lost count at how many bottles are yours for the tasting. We’ve curated an excellent list in partnership with presenting sponsor Goody Goody, featuring hundreds of labels from wineries across the world and every imaginable terroir.
Goody Goody Lounge | Take a break from using your Riedel wine glass to have it engraved by Ken Brown in the Goody Goody Lounge, where you can also play spin the bottle for a chance to win cool drink swag.
Master mixology creations | Using an endless array of spirits from Republic National Distributing Company, our friends at Sourced Craft Cocktails have created a master cocktail menu to sample—with classic variations on the mojito and sidecar along with cool-kid tiki-style coolers, cucumber sours, a Georgia peach sip and so much more.
The Glenlivet Dram Room | Whether you’re a Scotch aficionado or a newbie, you won’t want to miss The Glenlivet Dram Room—think custom cocktails, multi-sensory experiences and so much more. You’ll experience the sights, sounds, and flavors of The Glenlivet’s whiskeys in all new ways.
Hutchins BBQ Grill Lounge | We know you love the ’cue, and we’re firing up the Grand Tasting’s outside grill lounge with Hutchins BBQ (and maybe a cocktail or two to wash it down). They’ll have all their signature barbecue faves. Brisket, anyone?
Meoimi Wine Bar with the Cheese Twins | Just when you thought Meoimi wine couldn’t get much better, the Cheese Twins enter the equation. We know you recognize these boys from Food Network’s The Great Food Truck Race, where they won big with their gourmet grilled cheese sammies. Now, they’re coming to the Grand Tasting and spreading the cheesy goodness with suggested pairings for Meoimi wine.
Luke Wade | You might recognize him from The Voice, but Luke Wade’s next appearance will be on the Savor Dallas music stage where he’ll be bringing his soulful-Americana sounds to the party.
Say Cheese! | From the Cheese Twins to saying cheese, it’s time to strike a pose. My Event Is The Bomb is back with their GIF photo experience, where you’ll definitely want to get an Insta-worthy snap to add to your feed.
